Why Feel@Home Gambia?
We are an enthusiast team of diverse professionals, with the passion to make our visitors turn their dreams to explore a passion for the exploration and experience the diverse historical and cultural heritage of the Gambia to understand the specific issues that local inhabitants in communities are confronted with so as to make a lasting transformative sustainable positive impact.
We wish to promote and encourage a Unique Alternative Tourism, moving from the mainstream beach urban Tourism to a more rural and local community experience thereby encourage the spread of the gains from Tourism earnings and encourage local product development.

WHAT WE DO
ABOUT THE GAMBIA
The Gambia is a small country in West Africa. Stretching 450 km along the Gambia River, its 10, 689 sq. km area is surrounded by Senegal, except for a 60 km Atlantic Oceanfront. The country has a population of 2.1 million. With 176 people per square kilometre, it is one of the most densely populated countries in Africa. Most of the population (57%) is concentrated around urban and peri-urban centres.

Socio Economy
The Gambia with a population of two and half million, and with no valuable important mineral resources, highly dependent on Agriculture which over the last decade has been widely affected for various reason.
Hopes are now on its Tourism development that contributes almost 22% to the country GDP.
Youth Migration
The Gambia, has long since a history of both internal and external migration largely due to both social and economic reason, among them the lack of prospects for sustainable livelihood opportunities resulting to widespread poverty among the Youthful population, and its close proximity and easily accessible to the outside world.
Tourism Opportunities
As the Tourism activities are mostly concentrated in a 10 kilometre strip along the Atlantic coast in the designated Tourism Development Area (TDA). We at Feel@Home will Compliment actors in the Tourism industry initiative in the diversification of products, by bringing Tourism to the doorsteps of communities to spread the economic multiplier effects and their by alleviate poverty among the Womenfolk and Youths.
